Our Story

How Hands-On League Experience Shaped FlagFootballAdvice.com

Why We Exist

FlagFootballAdvice.com was created to address recurring operational challenges in youth sports. Directors need practical systems, coaches and referees need clear guidance, families need reliable communication, and athletes deserve a safe, organized experience.

Our mission is simple:

  • help elevate the standard of youth flag football
  • give league operators structured systems they can adapt
  • offer modern training resources for coaches and referees
  • help operators plan parent communication and community experiences
  • support age-appropriate, structured, high-energy environments for athletes

FlagFootballAdvice.com is building the blueprint for how modern youth flag football should operate.

How FlagFootballAdvice.com Was Born

The company was founded after witnessing firsthand how difficult it can be to operate a growing youth flag football program without repeatable systems. Passionate directors were often managing registration, staffing, communication, and game day through disconnected processes.

That changed when our founder, Gavin Fontenot, began developing the operational frameworks that later powered Louisiana Flag Football.

At 17 years old, Gavin launched the league and began building its operations around one core principle:

Systems Outperform Experience.

Instead of relying on guesswork, he developed frameworks intended to make planning clearer, operations more consistent, and family communication easier to manage.

These systems became the foundation for FlagFootballAdvice.com — a platform built not around one league, but for the entire youth flag football industry.

What We Offer and Plan

FlagFootballAdvice.com offers league-operations resources today and is developing additional training and advisory programs. Current and planned resources are organized for:

League Operators

Growth systems, operations, automation, backend support

Coaches

Playbooks, practice plans, development guides, and planned training

Referees

Rules education and planned mechanics-training pathways

Parents

Clear expectations, season guidance, communication support

Our goal is to give directors, coaches, referees, and families clearer information for planning and operating youth flag football programs.

What FlagFootballAdvice.com Creates

Our company builds the systems and tools that youth flag football has been missing for decades. These include:

Training Systems (Coach + Referee Certification programs)
Operational Frameworks (season architecture, game-day workflows, draft systems)
Technology & Automation Models (registration systems, communication templates)
Marketing & Growth Playbooks (registration funnels, media toolkits, outreach systems)
Revenue Systems (sponsorship models, merchandise systems, event frameworks)

These workflows are designed to reduce repetitive work, clarify registration, and keep standings current as a league operates.

Meet the Founder

FlagFootballAdvice.com was founded by Gavin Fontenot, who began building Louisiana Flag Football at 17 years old. His hands-on work across registration, staffing, communication, and game-day operations shaped the systems offered here.

His experience revealed the industry's biggest truth:

Great leagues aren't built on hustle — they are built on systems.

These operator-informed systems now shape the programs and courses inside FlagFootballAdvice.com.

Our Philosophy

Everything we do is built on five core beliefs:

Systems First — Structure beats chaos every time.

People-Focused — Better coaches, refs, and directors create better experiences.

Community-Driven — Youth sports should strengthen families and neighborhoods.

Growth-Minded — Every league has untapped potential waiting to be unlocked.

Impact Above All — What we build shapes childhood memories.
