The Story

In 2022, Gavin began building Louisiana Flag Football and encountered recurring operator challenges around registration, team coordination, game-day consistency, and family communication.

He responded by documenting workflows for the recurring work involved in operating the league.

He focused on clearer processes instead of ad hoc fixes.
The goal was repeatable execution across each season.

As the organization developed, the league became a place to test and refine those operating workflows.

"

The Turning Point

"I realized that raw hustle would never outpace operational chaos. So I started documenting repeatable workflows for registration, communication, and game-day work."

— Gavin Fontenot, Founder

Gavin designed frameworks to organize recurring work across staff, coaches, referees, and families.

Those frameworks included:

  • Automated registration workflows for signup, payment, and roster handling
  • Marketing systems for planning year-round outreach
  • Game-day operations protocols for documenting recurring field responsibilities
  • Coach and referee training systems for giving staff shared references
  • Communication structures for standardizing routine family updates

These systems became the operating foundation used inside Louisiana Flag Football.

Systems outperform guesswork. Frameworks outperform improvisation.

The Mission Today

FlagFootballAdvice.com was created to share practical systems shaped through hands-on youth league operations.

Operator-informed, practical guidance.
The same types of automations, frameworks, and operating models used in live league work.

Gavin's work is designed for startup leagues, established programs, parks & recreation departments, and private organizations that want to improve how they operate:

  • Plan registration campaigns
  • Organize recurring operating workflows
  • Reduce repetitive administrative work
  • Document game-day standards
  • Set sustainable operating goals

The guidance is informed by hands-on youth league operations.
Each framework is presented as a process operators can evaluate and adapt locally.

The Philosophy

Systems over hustle.

Hard work matters, but sustainable growth requires structure. Systems don't tire, don't get overwhelmed, and they scale.

Quality over quantity.

Scaling means nothing if the experience is poor. Excellence first, always — because families remember how you made them feel.

Impact over income.

Youth sports should enrich communities, families, and the next generation. That's the North Star.

Operator-informed, not abstract.

FFA materials draw from hands-on league operations and are presented as processes operators can review and adapt.
