Editorial Policy

Youth sports information should be accurate, accountable, and written by people who actually do the work. Here is how we produce and review everything we publish.

How our content is produced

Every guide, rulebook, and resource on FlagFootballAdvice.com is written from firsthand experience running and scaling real youth flag football leagues — not rewritten from other blogs. Rules, formats, and safety guidance are drawn from recognized governing bodies (NFL FLAG, USA Football) and organized-sport standards, and framed for parents, coaches, referees, and league operators. We do not publish thin, auto-generated, or "coming soon" filler content.

Who reviews it

Content is reviewed for accuracy by Gavin Fontenot, founder of Flag Football Advice and co-owner of Louisiana Flag Football, which he grew from 175 to over 2,000 athletes. Guides carry a visible author byline with published and last-updated dates so you always know who stands behind the information and when it was last checked.

Sourcing & claims

When a guide references rules, safety recommendations, or statistics, we cite the authoritative organizations behind them and link to them directly. We never invent statistics, testimonials, or citations. Where a specific figure has not yet been tied to a verified public source, we hold it back or clearly frame it rather than dress it up as settled fact.

Updates & corrections

Flag football rules and best practices evolve, and so do our guides. When we update a page, we refresh its "last updated" date. If you spot an error or something out of date, email us and we will review it promptly — verified corrections are made to the page and the update date is advanced.
